Sweet Wreath with The Flourish & The Verdant Fund presented the first iteration of Speaks! A free radio art festival
broadcasting sounds & seeds for people & pollinators. This all-day sonic art installation was held March 16, 2024 at
Birmingham's Railroad Park featuring sound art, music and talks on ecology transmitted from a radiophonic trellis in
the field on AM 1010 (dubbed the “WBAT” signal). Visitors collaborated on crafts & textiles to add to three bamboo
radio towers as sounds mingled in the air and milkweed seeds were given to all.
